Además, ICAA apoya plataformas regionales para inventarios de carbono y para monitoreo, informe y verifi cación de emisiones de gases de invernadero, promover la adaptación de actividades tales como manejo mejorado del agua en el contexto de deshielo creciente de glaciares, y abordar la vulnerabilidad de la agricultura comunal.” Excepto de lo enmendado o modifi cado en la presente Enmienda, todos los términos y condiciones del Convenio original permanecen en plena fuerza y vigencia. EN TESTIMONIO DE LO CUAL, la República del Perú y los Estados Unidos de América, actuando cada uno a través de sus respectivos representantes debidamente autorizados, han suscrito esta Enmienda No. Cinco en sus nombres y la han otorgado en el día y el año que aparecen en la primera página. AMENDMENT No. FIVE, dated September 30, 2014, between the United States of America, acting through the United States Agency for International Development (“USAID”), and the Republic of Peru (“Grantee”): WHEREAS, the Grantee and USAID entered into Assistance Agreement 527-0426 dated September 20, 2012 (the “Agreement”); WHEREAS, the Grantee and USAID amended the Agreement on July 19, 2013 (Amendment No. One), on September 21, 2013 (Amendment No. Two), and on August 26, 2014 (Amendments No. Three and No. Four); WHEREAS, USAID agreed to grant to the Grantee, subject to the availability of funds, a total estimated contribution of Three Hundred Fifty-Five Million United States Dollars ($355,000,000) to be provided in increments under the terms of the Agreement, of which One Hundred Eighty Million Two Hundred Fifty-Five Thousand Four Hundred Twenty- Seven United States Dollars ($180,255,427) have been previously obligated; and WHEREAS, the Parties through this Amendment No. Five desire to amend the Agreement to: (a) Increase USAID Grant funding pursuant to ARTICLE 3 Section 3.1(a); (b) Increase the Grantee’s contributions pursuant to ARTICLE 3 Section 3.2(b); and (c) Modify the Illustrative Financial Plan attached as Table 1 of the Agreement. (d) The text of Title 5.1 “Regional Health Activities” and Title 5.2 “Regional Environment Activities” included under Chapter 5 “Regional Activities” of Section V, “Development Objective Descriptions” of Annex 1, “Amplifi ed Description” of the Agreement, is revised by modifying the references of the assistance to Bolivia, starting this Amendment. THEREFORE, the Parties hereby agree to amend the Agreement as follows: 1. The text of ARTICLE 3, Section 3.1(a) is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced with the following: “(a) The Grant: To help achieve the Goal and Development Objectives set forth in this Agreement, USAID, pursuant to the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended, hereby grants to the Grantee under the terms of the Agreement an additional amount of Five Million Six Hundred Eighteen Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy- Eight United States Dollars ($5,618,778). The total amount granted to date is One Hundred Eighty-Five Million Eight Hundred Seventy-Four Thousand Two Hundred Five United States Dollars ($185,874,205) (the “Grant”). Under the Grant, Two Million Two Hundred Eight Thousand One Hundred Eighty United States Dollars ($2,208,180) are obligated by this Amendment No. Five, bringing the total funds obligated to date under the Agreement to One Hundred Sixty-Nine Million Four Hundred Twenty-Eight Thousand Three Hundred Six United States Dollars ($169,428,306). The total funds obligated and administered directly by USAID to implementing partners under the terms of the Agreement is increased by Three Million Four Hundred Ten Thousand Five Hundred Ninety-Eight United States Dollars ($3,410,598), to a new total of Sixteen Million Four Hundred Forty-Five Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety-Nine United States Dollars ($16,445,899).” 2. The fi rst sentence in Section 3.2 (b) (Grantee Contributions) is amended as follows: “The total Grantee’s contribution, based on USAID’s contribution in Section 3.1(a), are expected to be at least Forty-Three Million Seven Hundred Twenty-One Thousand Three Hundred Twenty-Eight United States Dollars ($43,721,328), as refl ected in Table 1.” 3. The Illustrative Financial Plan contained in Table 1 of the Agreement is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced with the Illustrative Financial Plan attached to this Amendment as Table 1. 4. Starting this Amendment, the second paragraph of Title 5.1 “Regional Health Activities” of Chapter 5 “Regional Activities” included under Section V, “Development Objective Descriptions” under the Annex 1 “Amplifi ed Description” of the Agreement, is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced by the following text: “Amazon Malaria Initiative: This a regional activity working in Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, and Suriname, which has been fundamental in achieving a 52 percent reduction in the number of malaria cases in the South America region. The assistance will improve the capacity of the GOP and other South American governments to reduce the impact of malaria and other infectious diseases”. Likewise, starting this Amendment the second paragraph of Title 5.2 “Regional Environment Activities”, is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced by the following text: Initiative for Conservation in the Andean Amazon (ICAA). This is a regional activity working in Peru, Colombia and Ecuador. ICAA works with host governments and conservation partners to strengthen environmental governance, develop economic and policy incentives for Amazon conservation, and promote greater understanding of key environmental issues related to biodiversity, illegal logging, and the impact of infrastructure, mining and hydrocarbon development. In addition, ICAA supports regional platforms for carbon inventories and monitoring, reporting, and verifying greenhouse gas emissions, promote adaptation activities such as improved water management in the context of increasing glacier melt, and address community agricultural vulnerability. Except as expressly amended or modifi ed in this Amendment, all terms and conditions of the original Agreement remain in full force and effect.
